NEW DIY SECTOR DIRECTOR FOR BHETA

Peter Stone, currently sales and marketing director for Eliza Tinsley Ltd, has accepted the role of DIY sector director for the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA). He will take up his role in the New Year.

Peter has been with Eliza Tinsley, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of chain, rope, hardware and accessories, for some 16 years and is well connected throughout the DIY and hardware industry.

John Grayson, BHETA’s DIY chairman, welcomed Peter to the Association saying,

“Peter has a fantastic knowledge of our sector and a huge wealth of experience that we will be able to put to great use for our members. The BHETA board is delighted he is joining the Association. We feel sure that Peter’s industry connections and understanding will improve our ability to look after our DIY members well.”

Peter started his career in the fmcg grocery sector, before moving into the garden and hardware trade in field sales for Murphy Chemical and Abru. He moved on to become sales and marketing director with garden tool manufacturer, Jenks and Cattell, and later with hinge and hardware manufacturer Worcester Parsons. Peter joined Eliza Tinsley in 1994.

He has held company board positions for the past 22 years and has been heavily involved in negotiations with retailers and merchants at all levels and of all sizes. His career has spanned a number of different market sectors over the years - including the architectural specification market, and he has many years experience in product development and marketing within the DIY and hardware sectors.

Peter commented on his new role, saying, "I am looking forward immensely to my new role within a very strong BHETA team and hope that I can bring my experience to bear to the benefit of members and add to the strength of the Association. The DIY industry deserves the best possible trade body to represent its interests and I'll be channelling all my energy to help deliver that along with my colleagues at Federation House."

Peter will be in place at BHETA from January 2, 2010.
