Please be aware of the following scam operation that has just taken place at Le Creuset in Andover.
Le Creuset receive an order by email to the value of £8000.
Order was emailed with an attachment on headed paper from a genuine existing customer.
On the email there was a request for the order to picked up from Le Creuset as quickly as possible.
Order processed, van turned up to pick up the order and drives off with goods.
Le Creuset sales representative called on the customer and mentioned the order which had been dispatched. The customer had no knowledge of the order, or the people quoted in the email or on the order.
Le Creuset have contacted police who are now pursuing the matter, and fortunately decided to share this experience with BHETA members.
Since the original email was sent, a number of other BHETA members have also advised that they have been targeted by this scam.
Please be aware of any suspicious requests for direct pick up orders.
